Nesting: New Boys' Room Decor

At long last - it feels good to be back on the blog again after a bit of (another!) break.  Things have been incredibly busy for us between keeping up with our homeschooling, birthdays, Easter, Chris' brother & sister-in-law visiting from out of town, and many, many projects to finish before Baby's arrival.

One of the biggest tasks has been rearranging the bedrooms & sleeping arrangements.  We decided to move the nursery to General's old room, and he and Little Monkey are now sharing the bedroom that used to be the nursery (since its the biggest of the kids' bedrooms and has two closets).  We let General choose the paint color for the room.  He requested grass-green and came up with the idea of painting blades of grass for a border.  He likes the idea of a safari theme - as in jeeps, camouflage, lions & elephants in the savannah.  He'd also like to mix in a little bit of WW2 "stuff"...we'll have to figure out how to do that at a later time!  A bit eclectic, but I think we can make it work for a room shared by a 2 year old and a 9 year old.

A huge thank-you to my sister for passing-on the bunkbeds!  They are so cute & they match everything perfectly!

Since taking these photos last week, I've actually had to rearrange the furniture again.  My "Little Monkey" quickly discovered how much fun it is to climb on top of the dresser to look out of the window at whatever is going on outside  - like watching garbage trucks, waving at kids walking by, or checking out Daddy's work-truck.  A little too hazardous for our comfort!  So now the dresser sits where the bookshelf is in the pic, and the books & toys are in the corner.  Still looks cute!

Next project - touch up paint in the nursery, and decorate those walls.  I'll post more pics if I'm able to finish before Baby is here!

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment! Things are pretty busy around our house, so I can't always leave as many replies as I would like to. But please know that I look forward to reading every note you send my way - they brighten my day! Blessings,Collette
